We were supposed to leave at 10:00 for level 1 but it was chaos as always, and no one really seemed to know. But at 10:30 “Pepe” told us that all surfers should go down to our local beach (Foz do Lizandro). So they divided us into two different groups. We at level 1 were supposed to surf close to the southern side of the beach just outside the small river. It was really hard work just trying to get out in the surf waves. One girl had the bad luck to step on some kind of fish that was poisonous and "Pepe" tried to squeeze out the toxin. But instead it just got more painful for the girl. I think they tried some lemon and vinegar on it to neutralize the poison. I think it got a lot better when they just let it be, although the foot was still a little bit swollen.
Since it was our last day I decided to struggle a lot in the waves. It was not until I succeeded with at good surf straight up in the river that I was satisfied for this time.
It was hard work to surf by ourselves but it also felt a lot more rewarding since I knew I did it all by myself.
Then it was time to visit our favorite café “Limipicos” for “bifana and a salada” it was a pleasure as always. Then we went down to the beach again to watch the other surfers. But now a thick fog quickly covered the entire beach, so we decide to walk back to the camp and rest a little bit.
After some rest I went up and decided to buy pictures from the photographer “Pia”. She had been following our progress from the beach with here zoom lens.
We also went to our favorite restaurant “Pim” in the village centre, today's special was grilled octopus, it looked a little bit scary, but I wanted to try it.
Even though I was full, we chose to taste the chocolate cake, it was really good. I don’t think I ever eaten a chocolate cake with such strong taste of chocolate/:)
Then we said goodbye to some of the other people at the camp, before we went home to prepare some packing for tomorrow. The last “highlight” was to see a firefly in the dark.
