A big Cat but no Fish

Sunday 15 February 2009 Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde

Today it was finally time for our first booked excursion, sailing with a big catamaran with place for 150 people but it felt a little bit strange to be so few passengers the crew were almost as many as us. The funniest thing was t jump on the front net we behaved as kids and we even inspired another kid to jump around. We sailed for a while then we stopped for swimming and snorkeling (In my mind I had imagined the ultimate snorkeling experience with thousands of colorful fishes and a lot of coral) but it was quite deep 7-9 meters I think. I could hardly dive to the bottom, but that didn’t help, there were no fishes to be seen and the water was cold and streamy.
But the crew was nice and easy as our fellow travelers.
The day ended at the “Funana” restaurant with another delicious Tuna an espresso and a local guava cake, wonderful!
